Christmas 2017

We had a wonderful Christmas even though we were far away family this year. We were able to start our own traditions as a family which was nice. Below are some of the things we did to celebrate Christmas in Mexico!

Doesn't she look so cute in her Santa outfit!

She loved playing with the Christmas lights!

Since we didn't bring many Christmas decorations with us we purchased some fun Mexican decorations!

 Taken at the Antara mall

I was pleasantly surprised that Aurora did so well taking a picture with Santa. I totally thought she would cry, but she actually did really well!

There was a Christmas performance at Lincoln Park that we enjoyed very much.

A lot of people had sparklers. I don't know where they got them, but it was fun to see them all lit up and be reflected by the pool.

They also had fake snow (soap bubbles) flying around which was fun.

The many faces of Aurora!

We went downtown to the Zocalo to see all the Christmas displays.

 A HUGE Posadas (Pinata)!

 Metropolitan Cathedral

 Christmas Eve! Ready for Church!
After church we headed up to the Temple which was the first time I have been since we moved here. It was beautiful!

Christmas display on the Temple grounds

Obligatory picture of all of us in front of the Temple

Right next to the Temple is a very nice visitor center!

Christmas morning! Mmmm..tasty present!

 Having fun opening presents!

  Yummy bow!

Aurora got a Hippopotamus for Christmas!

 Family Photos!

I surprised Gary this year with a Guitar which he has wanted for years! He is excited to start learning how to play!

First time eating Pancakes which she loved!

Friends from church invited us and a several other people over for Christmas dinner with was delicious!

Overall, it was a wonderful day and as we look back on our year we have had many countless blessings starting with our miracle baby Aurora and then having this wonderful opportunity to live here in beautiful Mexico City! Our ward has really become like family to us who have been a great support to us over these last few months. We can't wait to see what the new year will bring!
