South America!

In July this year Gary did his first foreign trip for his job. He went to Guyana (South America) for a week. He went down there to give a bunch of presentations on some new US wood laws.

He started out in Georgetown and went from town to town giving his presentation.

This is the Esquibo River, which he had to cross to get to one of his presentations.

This monkey kept trying to wrestle the rabbit. Poor bunny! :D

This is a picture of South America from the air.
It is either Western Guyana or Eastern Venezuela. Not sure...

Remodeling update!

We had a hard time getting our stove delivered to our house, but once they did we installed it within a couple of days with a help of a friend. Gary dismantled our old stove-top and the cabinet below it. He also had to cut a part of the counter-top so that the stove would fit properly. Once that was completed our friend Jerry came over and helped Gary install the stove. Our house didn't blow up so it was great success! See pictures below.

Old stove taken out!

Gary taking out the suffit so we could make room for the new cabinets!

Our closer look at our new stove!

Lots of holes in the ceiling!!

All patched up! This was a really hard to do, but Gary did a great job!

New paint!

Some of our new cabinets installed!

Our new microwave installed with more cabinets!

Ta da!! All done!! Yay!

We celebrated the 4th of July with a nice barbecue and then we all went out and watched a firework show in Laurel. See pictures below.
